Michelle's Journal
Some experiences seen through the eyes, sensed in the body and felt in one's very heart and soul can be difficult to express in mere words. Nevertheless, we will attempt to convey what we have experienced on our travels in writing here. We apologise in advance for any innacuracies, forgetful ommisions and just plain blunders.
Enjoy!

Left at 8:56am. Drove past the street Michelle lived in when she was 6/7 y.o. on the farm. Driving to Maryborough first, past the yellow fields of canola. Stopped for food. Ate at the Maryborough botanical gardens. Nice spray water in the middle of the lake. @ ducks came over to us and were swooped by a magpie, This happened twice. We ate our salad - headed off to Avoca - Ararat. Passed a little town called "Moonlight" - its a full moon today! We had our berries, nuts and greek yogurt. ❤ The mini horse was buying coffee at the roadside caravan serving coffee in Elmhurst. Up the hills and we are back in 1993! No interwebs lol. Driving to Mackenzie Falls. Easy going down, 260 steps back up. Lots of water ...where does it all come from? Headed into Halls Gap for a $3 shower. Looked at shops, bought 2 magnets & a map. Had dinner on BBQ (good one!). Watched the group (20) kangaroos come in and eat grass at dusk. Drove around looking around for somewhere to stop for the night. Didn't get bogged (nearly!) lol. Made it to Lake Fyans. Was a peaceful evening ❤ watching the full moon over the lake. ❤

Slept at Lake Fyans. Woke at 4:30 to pee. The full moon was as bright as can be. Was a still night. Woke at 7:30... Headed into Halls Gap and then up the hill to the Sundial car park. Mike said "we look like Scotts on tour - tartan and knickers hanging" haha! The 2hour hike up to the Pinnacle was tough on our legs but we made it ...yay! Awesome views up there and many cute little wildflowers to see. We saw 2 lizards of different sizes, oNe on a branch and one accross ther rocks in front of us. Two big blue tongue lizards were in the scrub, We were very sore in the afternoon! We headed back into town for $3 shower at the info centre - bargain! A 12 min drive from Halls Gap to Pominal Its a quaint little town. Barney's Bar & Bistro is where we ended up to watch the AFL grand final. Pies beat the Lions by 4 points! Had nice schnitzel and veggies for lunch. We sat on recliners and drank tea. We headed back up the mountain to catch the sunset at the Balconies. We ended up sleeping there. Watched My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3 ... It was a very windy night!
